For those of you who are not members of the New Church, you may be surprised to hear that the New Church teaches that marriages can last into eternity, that true ‘soul mates’ – those whose have become ‘one flesh’, whose souls have become one – are married in heaven. If you were raised in a Christian church that does not have this teaching, you might think it strange, or even unscriptural. Leading up to our wedding, you might hear about this idea quite a bit.
